Beware the masses...

In the days before the great flood during the time of Noah, all were corrupted and wicked. The only exception was Noah who was "the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God." See Genesis 6:9.

In Exodus 32, while Moses was up on Mount Sinai consulting with God, the Israelites waiting at the bottom started to lose faith and convinced Aaron to "make (them) some gods who can lead (them)." Aaron complied.... he made a golden calf, built an altar in front of the calf... and the people celebrated with "feasting and drinking, and they indulged in pagan revelry."

In Numbers 13-14, twelve scouts were sent into Canaan to explore the land. Upon their return, they reported large fortified towns guarded by powerful giants... who made them feel like grasshoppers. The whole community, except for Joshua and Caleb, lost faith in God's promise that He would deliver them.

In the above examples, the masses were wrong. Only one or two were able to stand above the rest and keep faith. In today's world, there is so much pressure to conform to the masses. It is so easy to just follow blindly without thinking. But beware the masses... they may be wrong.
