I just finished reading Leviticus. It took me some time as I am not a very disciplined reader. That is something I need to work on, i.e., to learn to put studying God's word before studying other things...
I like Leviticus. The part I like best is the first few chapters on the different types of offerings.... Burnt, Grain, Peace, Sin and Guilt. Now I know where this whole concept of "a sacrifice being punished in my place" comes from. Leviticus 1 is THE original reference. We should bear in mind always, that Christ is the offering, sacrifice that takes our punishment, that not only frees us from our sins, but also brings us into fellowship with God, the Father... my Father. Imagine.. what a tremendous privilege, to have personal fellowship with the Creator, King and Judge.
